Isaiah 52: 7-10 (Inclusive Bible)

How [beautiful] upon the mountains (a)

are the feet of one who brings good news—

who announces peace,

and brings news of happy things,

and proclaims deliverance,

saying to Zion, Your God reigns!”

Listen! Those who keep watch raise a cry,

together they shout for joy—

for they see with their own eyes

YHWHs restoration of Zion!

Break out together in song, O ruins of Jerusalem!

For YHWH comforts the people,

and redeems Jerusalem.

YHWH bares a holy arm

in the sight of all the nations;

all the ends of the earth will behold

the salvation of our God!

This is the last in the ”Beguiled By Beauty“ devotion series. I have really enjoyed opening my eyes to the beauty all around me – in nature, in art, in poetry, in people.

I‘ve found myself taking more photos and sharing them all over the place.  I‘ve found myself pointing out butterflies and frogs with anyone around me.  I can‘t seem to get enough of it!

I think this was the point of the series.  To take time to look and SEE.  To sit and listen and really HEAR. To rest in the peace and tranquillity of creation. We‘ve been blessed with all this beauty by a God who loves us.

What do we do now that our senses have been awakened to all this beauty?  Well, my hope is that it moves us to compassion and justice.  That is propels us forward into action for all of creation.  Let it make us courageous, generous and joyful as we move in this world as followers of ”The Way,“ as those who claim to love God.

Divine Creator,

Help us to look around and see the beauty of and in your creation.  Let it move us to radical love and radical compassion.  Amen.
