It’s the simple things.

Well, sorry I didn’t get this sent on time.  I have been traveling for two days and have one more to go!  I know, I should have gotten it written earlier but my darling husband just got home over the weekend from a three week trip so I was focused on him.  Anyway… Here we go…

31-32 Another story. “God’s kingdom is like an acorn that a farmer plants. It is quite small as seeds go, but in the course of years it grows into a huge oak tree, and eagles build nests in it.”

Matthew 13:31-32 The Message

This morning as we were heading out, we were able to watch the sunrise.  It started out with just a little pink and grayish blue sky… the pink grew for a bit and then suddenly, in just a blink of the eye it changed to a brilliant white and yellow.

The last few months, I’ve made it a point to catch a least a little bit of the sunrise and/or sunset.  I’ve taken this time as a prayer while I watch the beautiful color changes in the sky.  I whisper, “Good Morning!” And a thank you for a new day with new opportunities.

It’s a great way to start my day (or end) with God in joy and gratitude and it gets my daily conversation started.

You may be asking why I’m telling you all of this, well, this is how I got started on this Lenten Journey to find Jesus and God again – these morning sunrise prayers.

Sometimes, it’s small things that can bring us back into the fold.  It’s small things that can add meaning again.  It’s the small things.  Simple little things can have big impacts on our life and faith.

It’s true for getting started praying again.  It’s true in touching peoples lives.  It’s true in love.  It’s even true in raising our kids!  It’s the simple things in life that can make the biggest differences in life – ours and our community.

Dear God,

It’s me again with my friends.  Thank you for this day and opportunities it brought to us.  Thank you for the beauty of creation and the love you show us through it.  Amen.

Until next time… ♥️
