42 When daybreak arrived, Jesus went to a deserted place. The crowds were looking for him. When they found him, they tried to keep him from leaving them. 43 But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of God’s kingdom in other cities too, for this is why I was sent.” 44 So he continued preaching in the Judean synagogues.
~ Luke 4:42-44
This is our last Lenten reflection this year. Our next reflection will be an Easter one. As I was realizing this, I started looking back over the last several weeks and thinking about how far we’ve come.
Did we find Jesus again? Did we reconnect with God? Did you? Did I? I think so… I’m finding myself talking to God in my head throughout the day, asking for help, guidance, even just telling him what’s going on and how I feel about it.
So, yeah, I think I have. I hope you have too! Your journey and results might look completely different from mine and honestly, it should! I think each individual’s journey is their own and unique, just like each of us is unique.
All journey’s have hills, valleys, mountains, gulches, deserts, and all kinds of obstacles… those are or at least can be moments of growth.
Think of Judas and his betrayal, Peter and his denial, one checked out and one grew.
We have choices all along our journey of life, we can choose growth, stagnation, or just “checking out” (I don’t mean in the same way Judas did, please don’t ever make that choice!). I hope we always choose growth. It’s not the easy way, it takes work, it takes time, it takes patience but it’s always worth it, always. Stay curious, stay open, stay awake! Keep your eyes and ears open to see and hear and to meet Them in the most unlikely of places.
Dear God,
It’s me again, and my dear friends. Thank you for meeting us on this journey. Thank you for never giving up on us even when we sometimes give up ourselves. We are hear, eyes open, fully awake waiting, seeking, wanting to meet you in our every day, ordinary lives. Come walk with us!
Amen.
Until Next Time… ♥️
