I LOVE the holidays. This year was a little different for us. DH missed Thanksgiving and that was the pits. The necessary thing called work can be so inconvenient at times.
DD and I made the best of it and did our usual Thanksgiving morning tradition of cinnamon biscuits and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We made it more fun with some bingo cards I found for it and we laughed as we’d holler out, “Found one!”
Then we joined DD’s BF’s family for dinner and it was so nice. They were lovely and it gave me a chance to get to know them better.
DH didn’t get home until the middle of the month so DD and BF helped get the big decorations up and then I was able to slowly get all the little things out and ready for DH to come home. I spent a lot of time watching old Christmas cartoons and shows. It was a very nostalgic season for me.
The week of Christmas was so fun! We had family visit who had a little one and we got to watch ALL the cartoons of mine and my children’s childhood over and over again and I totally enjoyed it!
It was fun to have littles around the tree with their toys again and the living room looked like a tornado ripped through it with all the paper and boxes everywhere and…
I LOVED IT!!

I’ve missed my littles so much over the years. I love them as grownups too and we have so much fun doing all the grown up things but I’m such a child at heart and love the wonder of all the childlike things to do.
We went to look at the lights and trains downtown one morning and had lunch down there too and afterwards, while the grown ups were finishing and paying the bill, the littles and I rode that old ride, the escalator, up and down and up and down and up and down. To hear the word WOW with such wonder just warms my heart.

One night we went to the zoo and to see their lights! It was so magical! I spent the evening chasing littles and laughing as my heart continued to overflow with joy!
It was so hard to say goodbye, when their visit came to an end. I think I was meant for littles, mine, theirs, littles are just my favorite!! I’ll be sleeping for the next week or so because I’m not used to it but it was amazing and my heart is still just overflowing with love and joy.
Not all our family made it here and Oh, how I missed them! I can’t wait to get to see them all again. We were together in spirit and they were always on my mind, ALWAYS.
Sometimes I really envy those who have all their family near them. Mine is strewn out around the globe and has been since I got married. Sometimes, it’s just too much. I want everyone to move where I am and of course they want us to move to them. Lol
Now it’s time to deal with the aftermath… lol, I’ve never enjoyed housework much, but I think cleaning up this time will be wonderful because I’ll be remembering all the memories we created and looking forward to when we are together again to create even more! There’ll be tears too but happy ones, love-filled ones. Family means the world to me.
Until next time… ♥️
