Mark 12
Take a few minutes to read it. It’s linked or you can use whatever Bible you have on hand.
A couple of verses that jumped out at me…
10“”Have you never read this passage of scripture: ‘The stone which the builders despised has now itself become the corner stone; this cornerstone has come from the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes’?”
What you hear when you read this? How do you feel? What do you think Jesus is saying?
27”He is not God of dead people but of living.”
For me this verse strengthens my belief that the Realm of God, the Kin’dom of God is right here, right now. It’s up to us to make it so.
29”The Lord our God is the one Lord; and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love is an action word, not just a feeling, it’s a way of living, a way of living in the Realm of God.
38”See that you are on your guard against the scholars, who delight to walk about in long robes and to be greeted in the streets with respect, and to have the best seats in the synagogues and places of honor at dinner. They are the men who rob widows of their homes, and make a pretense of saying long prayers. Their sentence will be all the heavier.”
I feel this being said to us right now, in real time. Be on guard against those who delight to walk about in fancy clothes, and delight in be greeted everywhere with respect and so on. I feel it in my bones that it is a current call of caution for us.
44”for everyone else put in something from what they had to spare, while she, in her need, put in all she had — everything that she had to live on.”
A reminder for all of us, how important it is to share, to help, to give always, even when we think we have nothing left to give.
What jumped out at you? What thoughts and feelings came out as you read? I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time…♥️
