A little midweek devotional

I take refuge in you, Lord.

Please never let me be put to shame.

Rescue me by your righteousness!

Listen closely to me!

Deliver me quickly;

be a rock that protects me;

be a strong fortress that saves me!

You are definitely my rock and my fortress.

Guide me and lead me for the sake of your good name!

Get me out of this net thats been set for me

because you are my protective fortress.

I entrust my spirit into your hands;

you, Lord, God of faithfulness—

you have saved me.

My future is in your hands.

Dont hand me over to my enemies,

to all who are out to get me!

Shine your face on your servant;

save me by your faithful love! – Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16

That very last sentence says it all for me.  “Shine your face on your servant; save me by your faithful love!”  I feel like that is just an all inclusive prayer.  It covers it all.  Reading that, I can close my eyes and see the light of his face pouring over me, I like to imagine it pouring over my home and then radiating out to cover my neighbors, then the whole neighborhood, then my town and eventually the entire planet.  I imagine it all just glowing in his light, infused in his love.  This is my prayer for my life and for yours.

May the love and light of Christ fill you to overflowing!  Amen.
