We are well into the holiday season

Can you believe Thanksgiving has come and gone? Black Friday is over, Small Business Saturday has passed and now it’s Cyber Monday… and none of this has anything at all to do with this post, except that time can so easily get away from us.

We had family come out for the week of Thanksgiving. We had such a wonderful time. We played, we watched movies, we cooked… a lot, we went to the zoo, we looked at Christmas lights, we sang, we laughed, we made tons of memories.

I know the youngest one is too young to remember much of it, but we will and hopefully even though he won’t remember details, maybe the feelings will linger for him.

It was wonderful to have them all here to see the new house. It was fun to show them around and watch them enjoy the space.

We have an island in the kitchen now with chairs and so it was so fun to have everyone gathered around the island as I prepared meals.

One day, I came to DH and said, “This is like a dream come true! Having everyone here, cooking like crazy… It’s what I’ve always dreamed of!”

Of course, my allergies and sinuses started acting up halfway through the week… By Saturday, I was miserable, sounded like a frog, with a raw, red nose. I was still able to enjoy myself but wasn’t able to do just a whole lot. I did take a covid test and thankfully it was negative. Just a terrible cold, I guess.

Anyway, I couldn’t be more thankful for family and friends and time with them. Time really does go too fast. The week was over in the blink of an eye. I’ve never been good at saying goodbye, I mean who is? But telling that sweet, precious, little family bye was so hard. It was so crowded at the airport that I honestly didn’t even feel like I got to tell them bye!

Now, Christmas will be here before I know it. I’m not really ready… still have most of my gifts to buy and decorations to put up. DD is coming back next weekend to help with the decorations and I guess, i’m going to have to get busy with the shopping. I think i’m going to try not to go over board this year… try being the operative word here. We will see… I love giving gifts.

Anyway, how was your holiday? Are you all ready for Christmas? Do you manage your time better than me? or does it get away from you as badly as it does from me?

I know I need to do better and maybe someday I will. Maybe. or not. But I will do all I can to enjoy it to the fullest! I have lights to see, shows to attend, shopping to do, cooking to do, and gifts to give and I can’t wait.

So… Until next time…

PS. Did I mention, my computer died? Yeah… so I’m using DH’s and can’t get to my photos, or emojis so we are old school today. All words.
