Sacred Imagination

I was doing a little reading this morning and came across this ditty and I just had to share.

I emphasized those two lines because they hold so much meaning for us.

So often in life, we come to feeling like we are stuck where we are, like there is nothing we can do, like we can’t move on, and it’s just not true.

Life is what we make of it, I do believe that. It may not all be exactly the way we want but we always have choices to help us move forward, backward, or stay where we are. I hope we choose to move forward but those choices can be hard choices. They might take some imagination, they might be uncomfortable sometimes but moving forward is good. Whether it’s in our home life, our work life, our family life, even in community life – church, civic organizations, clubs, even as a nation.

But in this instance, I’m thinking smaller, on a more personal level, home, work, family. Sometimes we make wrong choices, we all do, but with a little imagination and a lot of love and courage we recover and continue to move forward. Sometimes, it requires us to remember what we want, sometimes it requires us to let go of what we thought we wanted but now realize we were wrong.

It can take some deep soul work, some soul searching, some introspection but it’s worth it.

Use your imagination to move into the “future and open up new ways of seeing and living!” Use it to “dream your way into a new beginning.” It’s possible. It’s doable. We just have to choose it.
