Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s and aunts, and sisters, and mother figures in the world!  I hope your day is as wonderful as mine!

Last night, DH stayed up late to put together our new patio furniture for me.  I “helped”.  You know, by reading the instructions and handing him the bolts and whatnots.  We had fun but it was hard on poor DH’s back.  We went to bed late, totally exhausted.

But we got up bright and early to come out and enjoy all that hard work!  DH got a towel and wiped away the morning dew for us and we enjoyed our morning coffee/tea snuggled up together out there.  

It was so peaceful and quiet. Just us and the birds.  It took me back in time and we chatted about memories on porches and balconies and about how this was a near dream come true!

As the world started waking up we made a light breakfast and enjoyed it out there and eventually we both ended up curled up, me under a light blanket, and him in his hoody, chatting and resting.

Lovely.

Then DD came over and found us both not quite napping out there.  We enjoyed a such a wonderful morning and afternoon out there visiting, laughing, playing with the dogs. 

We had our lunch out there, which was delicious, followed by a little ice cream dessert too.  As the day wore on we were all leap frogging over each other trying to out run the sun but eventually the sun won.  We are all too pale to last in the heat of the sun without a sunburn so in we came.

DH asked at one point do you think you’ll ever do housework again?  Or will you just be out here from now on?  Lol I told him I’d probably be out there and he threatened to put it on marketplace!  😂 I was only kidding but it will be tempting!  It will be a nice place for breaks and morning and evening teas.  

I can’t wait to go back out this evening and watch the stars come out and twinkle for us.

I just keep smiling and thanking DH over and over for purchasing it for us.  My favorite thing to do in the cool morning/evening hours is to sit outside and enjoy the wind and birdsong.  Now I can be comfortable while I do it!  For at little a few more days before the cool times are gone for summer… but I’ll dreaming of fall!
