It finally feels like Fall here! It’s a crisp fall morning, with a cool, gentle breeze, and a clear, starlit sky. The temperature is about 50*F and I’m sitting out on the deck, with my warm morning drink, a blanket over me and a little fire in my little table top fire bowl. As I typed that it blew out! Lol My gentle breeze just turned into a full blown wind. But I love it! The little fire doesn’t really put off much heat but its pretty, and my blanket is warm and well, I love snuggling under a blanket!
The wind chimes are singing and the wind is rustling the treetops. An airplane is flying overhead and I can hear the town waking up as cars rush by on the nearby street. I love the morning sounds. I can’t wait for the birds to wake up and start their calling.
The sky is beginning to lighten as the sun is slowly rising. I’m facing west so I can’t see the actual sunrise, as it is blocked by the house but I can see a tinge of the pink reflected on the western sky. I predict another beautiful sunrise. Lol
With weather like this, I may not get anything done today!! I love being out on the deck when there is beautiful weather. If I had a cover over it, I’d be out here in storms too! I love to listen to and watch the rain. Especially when it’s cool.
The other evening, DH, the dog and I got caught in a downpour on our evening walk. Not sure DH enjoyed it as much as me, but I found it quite funny and fun. We were soaked. I told him I’d always thought it’d be fun to walk in the rain and now I had! Lol. He sometimes thinks I’m a little crazy but he loves me anyway. I think… lol
We had a lovely weekend, well I did, DH had to work but he was around in the evenings. DD came out and spent the evening and night with us on Saturday and we went to dinner with our friend and celebrated her husband’s heavenly birthday and we had such a great time. We ate, we laughed and well, it was almost like old times having DD there. We all used to go to dinner together weekly and DD would show up at the restaurant just in time to eat the food I’d ordered for her. She arrived with us this time but it was still reminiscent of the old days.
When we got home she and I went for a 4 mile walk and just chatted and visited to our little hearts content about everything and nothing. Then we came home and turned on a Hallmark movie and proceeded to chat all the way through it until 11:30pm, when we finally went to bed.
Sunday we got up and I made homemade buttermilk pancakes and DH cooked the bacon and it was delicious. Then DH went to work and DD and I went shopping for a dress for her engagement photos. We had a great time! Even though I see her once a week, I’ve missed her so much. She’s always busy and stressed and can be a little cranky (can’t we all) and she was just relaxed and enjoying herself and it was so nice! Again, it felt like old times.

Anyway, I wasn’t planning on writing about all the ins and outs of the weekend but there it is. My plan was just to write about sitting out on the deck, in the cool, dark morning with my blanket, tea, and mini fire bowl. I love writing outside in the dark as the sky slowly brightens. It’s always a surprise when I look up and see the pale blue of the sky with the light pinks and I can see the colors of the trees. It’s such a slow process, I barely notice it until I look up.
Anyway, my fire bowl just blew out again, so maybe it’s sign to get up and get busy. I need to clean the house a bit, do some research and some planning and go live my life!
Until next time…♥️
