I have been a busy little bee this weekend. I had a wonderful lunch with a dear friend I haven’t really seen for several years. It was a three-hour lunch date! It was so nice to catch up with one another again. I had really missed our friendship so I am really glad we are reconnecting.
Then, I’ve been working on some Valentine projects. Some of it was supposed to be a birthday present but… I didn’t meet that deadline so Valentine’s it is!! It was so fun and frustrating, and exciting to make.
The two in the back go with the wedding quilt I made for my DS and DIL for Christmas. I thought it’d be nice to have matching pillows with photos on them. I had plenty of leftover fabric so, what else do you do?
The one in front is what we call a deployment pillow. It’s a pillow to take on deployments. The case is removable so that if he has to leave quickly, or has limited room, it can easily be taken off and folded up and stuffed into a rucksack.
I’m not a great seamstress so don’t look too closely but they are filled with so much love that it should hide all my poor sewing skills! Right? Ssshhhh… This is a gift, it’s a surprise so don’t say anything to them if you know them. 🙂
