Date Night!

EDIT: So… in rereading this, I’m embarrassed by over usage of the word FUN… Lol. It’s obviously how I felt so, I’m not going to edit it but good grief… 🤦🏼‍♀️

Do you couples out there regularly go out on date nights? How often do you have them? Once a week, once a month, once a quarter…? We don’t do it often enough.

A month or so ago, I decided we needed to implement it. So I bought us tickets to the symphony to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 in concert. It was EXPENSIVE, so we decided it we wouldn’t go out to dinner too as the tickets were expensive enough.

It was finally time to go earlier this week and we had a great time. We didn’t stick to the not going out to dinner though… Dinner on an event night is tricky… we have a bit of drive to get there and it was on a work night so DH had to get home first. We wanted to dress up a little and well, trying to cook, dress up, eat and drive seemed a little daunting so we stopped on our way and ate out and it was fun.

The evening was a lot of fun. We had good seats, good company, and full bellies. (Maybe a little too full but it was a special occasion.). It was fun to watch the movie and at the same time watch the Conductor and orchestra. Some of the musicians dressed in their Harry Potter robes or colors and that was fun.

It was fun to see all the audience in their different attire. Robes, wizards hats, wands, socks, ties, you name it, it was probably there!

I found myself counting as if I was one of the musicians as I watched the Conductors screen flash and count the measures.

I can’t decide which was distracting, the movie or the orchestra. 😂 I mean, what was I supposed to be watching, really?

Never the less it was a fun night. I got to have a golden snitch cake pop and DH got his special drink and really, we just got to be together, arm in arm for an evening that focused just on us. So, if you haven’t had a date night lately with your special someone, this is your sign to go plan one now! Go take some time to celebrate your love for one another. You deserve it.
