Fall, Food and Funday Monday 😂

Fall makes me all about food.  That’s dangerous but I’m trying to find balance with my love of cooking and … ahem… eating.  Balancing them by learning to enjoy what I cook while not overindulging. And sharing a great way to help with that!

This morning, I tried something for breakfast.  Well, something newish… I LOVE avocado toast,  I usually have it with an egg but this morning I tried it with cottage cheese and it was amazing and so much more filling!  I really enjoyed every bite.  I had seen someone on Instagram Reels do this and they had super doctored up with chili sauce and warm honey.  I went simple with some mashed avocado, with a little onion and lime juice and cottage cheese with a little salt and pepper.  I will definitely be having it again. I’m getting ready to make some homemade bread, and I know it will be even better!

Yesterday, DD came out for a little visit and I made (with her help) a yummy Chicken Chicken Pan Pie.  It’s DH’s favorite and she loves it too and it was delicious!  So comforting.  DH had requested it and we were all glad he did. I sent home half the leftovers home with DD to so she’d have one meal planned for the week!

Tonight we are having a Creamy Sausage and Cabbage Soup. It’s another favorite and we will be able to enjoy it for a few days.  Lunches will be taken care of!    We haven’t had it in a while.

I’m thinking of filling my weeks with soup, warm crusty bread – homemade of course!  – and maybe a good book or movie.  Lots of snuggles with DH too, when he’s around.  

Today our weather is supposed to be pretty warm… upper 80s… but then we get to cool back down – still in the 70’s till Friday but cool mornings!

This morning was in the 60s, not bad but I love it a little more crisp, but we did have a beautiful sunrise! And trees blowing in the wind made for a lovely morning.
