A Prayer for today

Holy God, 
Creator of all things, 
Omnipotent, Omnipresent God, 
We are here today seeking you, trying to connect with you, to experience you in a meaningful way. 
Help us to hear your voice in the voice of our neighbors, in the song of the birds, and rustle of the wind in the leaves.  
Help us to see your face in our each other’s faces – friends and strangers a like, 
in the sunrise and sunset, in the starlit sky.  
Help to us Love like Christ taught us, unconditionally, even our enemies.  
Help us to seek justice and help to end injustice in our world.  
Lend us your voice to help us speak out for those who can’t speak for themselves. 
Give us courage to stand up and speak out against injustice.  
Give us courage to see even what we don’t want to see, 
to hear even what is hard to hear, 
help us to be open and let the scales fall from our eyes so that we can truly see what is going on around us, right in front us.  
Help us to listen, 
help us to hear, 
help us to move and to follow where you lead 
and do the work you put before us.
