Exciting times!

We had an exciting weekend.  Busy and exciting but also a bit of an emotional roller coaster (perhaps menopause induced?). 

DD got engaged!! Her fiancé planned a special after party and it was lovely.  He arranged for a few family members to come in from out of town for a little dinner party at his parents home after the proposal to surprise DD.

So we made 4 trips to the airport in 3 days but it was so worth it to see the surprise on her face as tears of joy rolled down her cheeks.

We toasted, we laughed, we ate, we chased after a little one. We oooed and ahhhhed over the ring.  We teased her about how hard she made it to keep it all a secret.

DDF (Darling Daughter’s Fiancé) is a really good one.  He’s kind and you can tell he loves and adores her.  He takes care of her and knows her quirks and how to react to them… such as he recognizes when she’s hungry before she does and gets food in her before she has time to get hangry (a trait she gets from her dad lol 😂).  There are lots of other things too but that’s one I appreciate so much because well, she doesn’t always feed herself as often as she should and now, he makes sure she does and I love him for that.

We are so excited for them and can’t wait to see what their future holds.  All good things I’m certain.

It was a special time for sure.  

There was so much joy at everyone’s arrival and over the celebration and then so many tears as the visits ended too quickly.  I’ve never been very good at goodbyes. NEVER… emotional roller coaster indeed.
