I’m puzzling again

I love puzzles. I used to hate them. Could never finish them. Didn’t have the patience for them but the last several years has me in love with them! I took several months off because I didn’t have any new ones and couldn’t find any at a reasonable price that piqued my interest. That is until last week. I went to a new Ollie’s discount store that opened nearby-ish and they had some great puzzles at a good price, so I bought two!

DH decided that we would work one of them together for an anniversary activity. He lasted about 30 minutes before he left it for the couch and a movie. lol It was still fun and I continued on with it while we watched the movie. I didn’t quite finish until Saturday morning.

By late morning, I started the other one I had purchased. It’s a bit harder with more pieces and it’s taking me a lot longer to finish. In fact, I’m still working on it! It is definitely a challenge for me. In my defense, I’ve been busy and haven’t been able to work on it much. Not at all yesterday. But I’m getting a few pieces in here and there today. and I’m totally enjoying it.

Last night we went to a movie. Tuesday night is date night because it’s 50% off at AMC (used to be $5 day). We don’t always go but if there is something we want to see, that’s when we go. Last night we watched “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” and I loved it! I laughed, I teared up. I think DH even enjoyed it. Not his usual genre but he was thoughtful and went with me because we’ve been seeing a lot of either horror or shoot ’em up/blood and guts kind of stuff. He owed me.

We’ve been having a lot of fun lately. We’ve been to the movies, to the dinner theater (I can’t believe how affordable that is!), we went to an orchard the other day. We’ve laughed, we’ve danced, we’ve walked, we’ve cooked together. I think we, mostly me because he had no trouble with the transition, are really getting the hang of this empty nest thing! FINALLY!! Our youngest moved out like 6 years ago! I’m finally done feeling like I can’t do anything without them. Now if we could just win the lottery so that we could travel more and not have to worry about how to pay for it. lol

Anyway, We’ve been having a good time lately especially with the puzzles. lol. Need to get more and maybe find a new advent puzzle calendar thing. I loved that first one I did! It was so fun. So I’ll be on the hunt for that!
