Silence

Oh my, I have been silent on here for way too long.  I guess I just got busy.  This empty nest thing has been okay.  Oh, I miss my kiddos every day but I’m surviving and even thriving.

We had a wonderful holiday season.  It went by much too quickly.  We all gathered about an hour from DD for Thanksgiving.  We had a lovely time just hanging out together.  We played games, we had our own little paint and sip, we watched movies, we visited and caught up with one another’s lives and of course, we ATE.

Then we went home, and that was hard.  I’ve never been very good at saying goodbye.  But we were all back together again two weeks later to see DD perform in The Nutcracker.  It was fun to see her on the professional stage and it was good to all be in one place again but it was too short of a visit for me!

It was two more weeks and we were all back together for Christmas!  DS and DIL came for a whole week!  We had such a wonderful visit.  We baked, we ate, we decorated “gingerbread” houses (graham crackers), we played, we chatted… I just love my grown-up kids!

When they were all gone and it was just DH and me again, he turned to me and said, “Ok, I’m over it.  I’m ready for everybody to just move home.”  LOL  Don’t get me wrong, we love spending time just the two of us but it was so fun having the kids around again.  Maybe someday they’ll live closer.

I’m going to try to get back to writing here.  It’s good for me and I actually really enjoy it.  So until next time… be happy!
