How are you fairing this cold snap that is making its way across the US? I’m staying inside, nice and warm. I’ve got a nice fire going in the fireplace and I’ve had my hot cocoa and I just may have another. I’ve been trying to get some things done but I’m not being very successful today. My mind just doesn’t seem to be into it. I’ll keep trying… But until then…
I’ve been thinking back on my list from the other day. I mentioned wanting to cook more. So today, I decided to make some yummy corn chowder. The last time I made it DD and I were vegan but due to some health issues we are no longer but I really loved this soup. I made it with dairy milk as that’s all I have in the house but it was really good without it too. You can check out the recipe here. I also made a loaf of delicious crusty bread. (recipe here) Burnt the heck out of my fingers… DH distracted me… and I may have eaten a little too much of it.
Still thinking of my list… I’ve been reading the book Drawn In: A Creative Process for Artists, Activists, and Jesus Followers. I’m really enjoying reading it. I’m reading this one for both work and pleasure so it kind of counts for my list. 🙂 It’s really quite an interesting take on things. It actually has a lot to do with my being more regular about writing here. I’m trying to let myself be more creative in my life. To allow for it in my day. I’m also looking at creativity in a different light and I think that’s good. I think we often make creativity too hard. Just let yourself be… you don’t have to be perfect and your creativity doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It’s YOURS! Enjoy it!
Anyway, I’ve probably rambled on more than anyone would be interested in anyway, so I guess I’ll go for now. I’d love to hear from you!
