Got a late start to my walk this morning. It was raining so I put it off… eventually, I just put on my raincoat and headed out. It was cool and nice, even with the rain… then it stopped… Of course it did! Now I have this jacket on and I don’t want to turn back so I tied it around my waist and just kept going!
We didn’t take our new usual walk because well, I didn’t want to cross the street to get there because there were so many cars! And I’ve learned that around here, when people see walkers, they don’t slow down, they speed up! Not everyone, but some and you just don’t know who’s who so… We went the old way but I wanted that third mile, so I added on and it was nice. We went just over 3 miles! WooHoo! I couldn’t believe the pup went. He hates getting his paws wet but he didn’t try to turn back so we did it!
I have mostly been a fair weather walker. I’ll go if it’s cold but not for too long, but rain and heat usually keep me away… and ice… I worry about falling, but I’m trying to really be committed to this journey and today, I definitely succeeded! And I feel really proud about it. I want to get my other two miles in this evening but we do have plans, so I’m not sure I’ll make it but I’m going to try. Even if it means walking around our little neighborhood, in and out of the circles 3 times to get there. DH might not go with me but… I’m committed!! If I quit now, what does that say?
Plus tomorrow we have plans again, so… I have to get it in at least one of the two days and I think tonight will end earlier so…
I did get to have tea with a friend this morning. That was fun! I’m usually all alone in the mornings except for phone calls so it was nice to share a cup of tea with a friend and just visit and enjoy each other’s company. We should make a regular date of it. Lol
Anyway, I had other stuff I wanted to say today but since I got a late start, I think I’ll wait till tomorrow. I hope you have a lovely afternoon! I plan to!
